The Carolyn E. Parker Foundation Welcomes You to a Great Gatsby Evening
The Carolyn E. Parker Foundation is proud to announce its 4th Annual Gala Fundraising Event. The event will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, from 6:00pm-12:00am at Avenue54 at the Wildewood Village, 23154 Wetstone Lane, California, MD 20619. Adrienne Somerville, the host, requests the pleasure of your company at this exciting black tie event, filled with laughter, dinner, and dancing. A great time is guaranteed to be had by all attendees!
The purpose of the event is to continue to lead change and inspire our youth and impoverished by transforming their lives and enabling memories with funds raised in support of Carolyn E. Parker many community initiatives, to include its Scholarship Fund.
Under Ms. Somerville’s leadership as President, Project Cinderella has delivered more than 100 complimentary dresses to young ladies wanting to attend their eighth-grade dance. Specifically, the annual Project Cinderella initiative is a community outreach initiative, with public schools, located in Southern Maryland. The Carolyn E. Parker Foundation leadership team, in confidence, partner with school administrators to ensure girls desiring to attend significant school dances (i.e. spring dance, prom, homecoming, and winter formal) are afforded an opportunity to participate by selecting from a variety of formal and semi-formal dresses. This event benefits community middle school and high school students.
Moreover, as a result of co-sponsoring a girl’s empowerment afterschool program, many young ladies enjoyed after school meals, engaged in cyber bullying, self-awareness/empowerment, meditation/stillness, financial management, goal setting and vision board training, attended college and career panel sessions and “Dining like Divas” etiquette training. These self-improvement events continue to broaden the minds of our next generation of leaders. Furthermore, leading Project Warm, the Carolyn E. Parker Foundation not only filled the bellies and warmed the bodies, but also touched the souls of many displaced people; men and women in our tri-state area.
The Carolyn E. Parker Foundation is driven by a passionate belief that we all have a responsibility for each other during the most troublesome times. Our vision is through community partnerships, outreach initiatives and the ethos of The Carolyn E. Parker Foundation, the elderly will be supported, the youth will be educated, the hungry will be fed, the unclothed will be covered, and the impoverished will be restored. Therefore, The Carolyn E. Parker Foundation, serving as mentors and role models in personal, social and spiritual development, is focused on leveraging resources to transform lives and deliver much-needed care and support to educating our youth and elevating our impoverished community members.
